Alaska Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License Reciprocity Process

The license reciprocity process allows individuals who hold a current and valid SLPA license in another U.S. state or territory to become licensed in Alaska without taking an exam. Verification of the license must be sent to the Department directly from the issuing agency. The following documents are also required:

  • A completed application (download the application here)
  • Authorization for Release of Records form
  • Official associate or bachelor’s degree transcript
  • Verification that you’ve completed 100 hours of supervised fieldwork
  • $270 application fee
  • Completed background check

Once the board has all of this information they will review the documentation and issue a decision regarding licensure.
