Oklahoma Speech-Language Pathologist License Renewal Procedure

Starting the speech-language pathology licensure renewal process early is encouraged to prevent any potential lapses in licensure due to incomplete application materials or other delays. License renewal in Oklahoma is required every two years and can be done online. The Board will send a reminder email at least one month before the renewal deadline.

To fulfill the renewal requirements, 20 continuing education credits must be completed during this period, with a minimum of 10 credits per year. These credits can be earned by attending conferences, webinars, workshops, or academic courses related to speech-language pathology.

In addition, for those supervising SLPs during their clinical fellowship, six hours of clinical supervision training from ASHA-approved providers is necessary. The Board’s continuing education form should be used for documentation upon completing a continuing education course. All ASHA-approved continuing education opportunities are pre-approved by the Board. However, if a non-ASHA-approved opportunity is preferred, the Board must be contacted for approval.

The renewal fee is required biennially, with a late fee of 50% of the license fee per month assessed starting on January 1st. You can complete your renewal with payment options available through Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and EFT. Whether you renew your speech-language pathology licensure online or by mail, you can check your status through the online portal.

You must reset your password every 90 days if you have previously renewed. To do this, click “Login Help” if you can’t recall your username. However, if you are renewing for the first time, you must create an account by selecting “New User” and following the instructions to complete your online renewal process.

After your renewal request has been approved, you will be notified via email. At that point, you can access your account and select the “view/update/renew” option, navigate to the “receipts” tab located at the top, and proceed to click on the “print wallet card” option to obtain a hard copy of your license. Note that you can only click this link once, so make sure your computer settings allow it to open.
