Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist License Renewal Procedure

One of the conditions that must be met for license renewal is completing at least 20 continuing education (CE) hours. This is done during the renewal period, which takes place every two years.

Ten of the CE hours need to be completed in speech-language pathology, while the remaining hours can be in an area related to your profession. Here are a few approaches you can take to attaining the hours:

• Author published work – These submissions count for up to 20 CE hours each renewal period
• Co-author a published work – As a co-author, you can receive up to 10 CE hours for each renewal period

Attending workshops, and seminars, and taking courses related to speech-language pathology are other ways to earn CE hours.
