Florida has a reciprocity agreement with other states and will grant qualified candidates licensure by endorsement. Below are the requirements.

Licensure by Endorsement from Another State/Territory

  • Send a copy of the laws and rules to the board outlining the criteria for licensure and the issuing state during the time you were granted a license. It is expected that the criteria be very similar or equal to the requirements for SLP licensure in Florida. If your license in that state was granted through reciprocity or grandfathering, you may not be able to receive an SLP license using this method.
  • Each professional license you hold or once held must be submitted to the Board directly from the licensing entity. No license copies will be accepted as a form of verification.

You can apply online on the Florida Department of Health website.
