South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist License Renewal Procedure
The license for Speech-Language Pathology must be renewed every two years, with an expiration date of March 31st of the second year. Any license not renewed by this date becomes invalid. However, it may be reinstated upon receipt of a renewal application postmarked before May 1st, accompanied by the biennial license fee of $160 and a reinstatement fee of $50.
As a requirement for renewing the SLP license, you must fulfill 16 hours of approved continuing education per license period. These hours must be reported on the renewal form and recorded by the licensee for four years for audit purposes. These records must be available upon request.
The South Carolina Speech-Language-Hearing Association offers continuing education opportunities, including an annual conference that counts towards continuing education. Specific requirements for continuing education can be found on the Board’s website.
