You must renew your license each and pay a renewal fee to NCBOESLPA. You are given a grace period of 30 days after your license has expired. The board’s new system now allows for renewal up to 59 days before the expiration date of the license. Only attempt to renew before that period will be successful.
If you fail to renew before the grace period expires, the Board can suspend your license. However, if your license was suspended due to failure to renew, you will not be subjected to any examination to renew your license.
To maintain your speech-language pathology license, you must renew it annually for a fee of $60.00. Payment must be made payable to the board if you pay via check or money order. Ensure to write your North Carolina speech-language pathology or audiology license number on the memo line. If you’re not renewing online, you must fill out this renewal form along with the payment to NCBOESLPA’s address.
You must sign to confirm compliance with the Board’s continuing education requirement (21 NCAC 64 .0218). The Board may randomly audit, and you are only obliged to provide proof of continuing education if it is specifically requested. As an alternative to completing the traditional continuing education requirements regulated by the Board, you will establish an arrangement with your employer that involves supervised training each year.
